Books on Technical Analysis

What are the best books on Technical Analysis?

“Every transactions in this world has its own Reward to Risk Ratio however rewards of reading a Book is enormous w.r.t. time we will risk in reading it.”

Technical Analysis is a subject which everyone on YouTube, Meta, Instagram is ready to teach with a direct or indirect subscription fee however I have personally observed that most of them even do not know, how to draw a Trendline. You may be shocked while reading this upcoming sentence but I was literally unaware of actual procedure to be followed to draw a Trendline and I had always been struggling with this question in my mind whether I shall use Closing Price of any Stock to draw Trendline or use High/Low or just draw your Trendline and just try to make it touch the Candlestick/Bar Chart until I enrolled myself in Chartered Market Technician course by CMT Association, USA.

To mitigate with this issue without anyone’s help and without paying any subscription fee to anyone I would like to tell you that I have read multiple books on Technical Analysis apart from my Academic Books which I was supposed to go through while doing my multiple certifications in Technical Analysis courses and have personally found below mentioned books as the best resources to learn Technical Analysis:

  • Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by John J. Murphy

– To learn the basics of Technical Analysis tools

  • Technical Analysis of Stock Trends by Edwards & Maggee

– To master Classical Chart Patterns

  • Japanse Candlestick Charting Techniques by Steve Nison

– A must read to learn the behavior of Candlesticks

  • Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns by Thomas Bulkowski

– A book to know which Classical Patterns to follow and which of them to skip

  • A complete guide to Volume Price Analysis by A. Couling

– A must read to understand Volume analysis

  • Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas

– A definite guide to success in trading (especially Scalping/Day Trading)

There are thousand of books available on the web and in bookstores on this subject matter however you will find only basic knowledge of Technical Analysis from most of these books and therefore I have mentioned books above which have been read by me after investing my hard earned money along with investing my time hence you can definitely trust that listed books will definitely help you a Master in this subject matter.

|| Pro Tip: In case you are tight on budget then I strongly recommend you to read at least – Technical Analysisof the Financial Markets by John J. Murphy along with Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas. These two books are self-sufficient to make you consistently profitable in the Securities Market world. ||
